 History

The family hotel Pension Villa Basileia had originated from the reconstruction of a summerhouse formerly belonging to the countess von Schaumburg Lippe, which came to love Karlovy Vary in the nineteenth century. She had her villa built in a New Romanesque style, inside the beautiful valley of the Teplá river, which is the gateway into the spa centre of Karlovy Vary. During the reconstruction of the Villa Basileia into a family hotel, we have managed to preserve the original layout of the aristocratic mansion.

The present

We have arranged accommodation for you in double-bedded rooms and suites equipped in the standard of a *** hotel with "Garni" type hotel services. The rooms are equipped with bathrooms featuring a bath or a shower and a toilet, a satellite TV and a refrigerator. Our family "Pension Villa Basileia" offers spa procedures. We provide in-house massages right on the premises and an infra-cabin. There are swimming pools in the vicinity of the hotel, and of course colonnades for drinking cure. For medical stays, we offer professional spa medical care. Thanks to the hotel's position, it is an ideal location for jogging and even the starting point for hiking and cycling tours. There are a number of golf courses and tennis courts within the hotel's reach.

During the summer months, we offer pleasant seating in our garden with a pool and a sun deck. Our hotel is open for your friends as well, with whom you can spend summer afternoons and evenings at the garden grill. Karlovy Vary is the place of the International Film Festival and our hotel is in the viscinity of the movie theatre halls.
